Part of the importance, Farina said, is to remember that Sinatra—and his popularity, his great career and his fame—started in the Mile Square.

On the table, next to the white cake that stated "Happy Birthday Blue Eyes, 96," Farina laid out paraphernalia, including a picture of the original Hoboken Four, of which his uncle James Petrozelli was a member.

The items on display were the same as last year, Farina said, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have more. "I could fill up half this room," he said, adding that he has a much bigger collection back at home.
