Letter to the Editor: Former Fire Chief Richard Tremitiedi
The outstanding senior resident of Hoboken thanks his wife.

Dear Editor,
At the June 20 Council Meeting, it was very rewarding to be presented with aproclamation from Mayor Dawn Zimmer for my selection as 2012 Hoboken Outstanding Senior Resident in a program administered by Hudson County.
I thanked Mayor Dawn Zimmer for nominating me with the suspected help of Leo Pellegrini, Director of Health and Human Services and Tom Foley, Division Head of Senior Services.

After my retirement as fire chief, I am privileged to continue to serve on the Hoboken Zoning Board of Adjustment and to help as a proud member of the Hoboken Community Emergency Response Team [C.E.R.T.], which is always at the ready, when called upon, to assist our Police and Fire Departments, and the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corpsin times of great emergencies such as floods, hurricanes and acts of terrorism.
All these activities take some time and this letter is to thank my wife Mary for putting up with me. I hope to continue to contribute as long as I can.
