Main Break Closes Streets, Leaves Buildings Without Water
Repairs are expected to take approximately eight hours.

A water main break at the intersection of 5th Street and Jefferson Street Thursday morning has closed nearby streets and left buildings on the adjacent block without water, the city announced on its website.
Fifth Street is closed from Monroe Street to Adams Street, and Madison Street and Jefferson Street are closed between 4th and 6th streets. Buildings on 5th Street between Jefferson and Madison streets, and at the intersection of Jefferson and 5th streets are without water, according to the city's announcement.
As of 5:15 a.m., United Water had shut down the 12-inch main and a construction crew was on hand fixing the break. Bottled water is available for residents who have lost water until service can be restored, which the city said is expected to be about eight hours. A boil water advisory has not been issued at this time.
