Flooding, Heavy Rain May Affect Hoboken Commute: See Timing

A flood advisory was issued for Hoboken. Heavy rain is expected. See the timing.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Heavy rains are predicted for Friday morning, and when that happens during high tide in Hoboken, streets often flood. (See photos from the last storm here.)

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory in Hoboken from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, during the morning commute.

High tide is expected at 7:54 a.m. Friday in Hoboken.

For Thursday night into Friday, the NWS says, "Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible." For Friday, "Rain showers before 4 p.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible."
