Man Charged After Leaving Gun, Ammo At Hoboken Bar, Police Say

Lawrence Friscia left the unregistered weapon in a bag at the restaurant, police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A Hoboken man was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after he left a gun in a local bar/restaurant, police said.

Police said that an employee at the Elysian Cafe on Washington Street found an unloaded gun and ammunition around 9 a.m. on Nov. 10. They were inside a computer bag left behind by a customer the night before.

Two police responded and traced the items to Lawrence Friscia, 45, of Hoboken, police said.

He "did not have proper paperwork for the Glock 19 that had been left behind," police said.

He was taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters. Then, New Jersey State Police confirmed the gun was not registered to him, police said.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and released on a summons, police said.
