Maurice DeGennaro, 72, Hoboken Resident and Activist, Dies

Our condolences go out to DeGennaro's family and friends.

Maurice DeGennaro, a well-known Hoboken resident who also managed Columbian Towers, passed away on Friday at the Hoboken University Medical Center. He was 72. 

Always present to voice his opinions on local government and issues, DeGennaro rarely missed a council meeting and was well known by Hoboken's politicians. A rug with the city's seal hangs in the lobby of City Hall and was donated by DeGennaro.

DeGennaro had been hospitalized multiple times during the last couple of years.
