Mayor Picks New Zoning Officer

Long-term Hoboken resident appointed to the position

Ann Holtzman, Hoboken resident and legislative aid to has been appointed to be the city's new Zoning Officer. 

"I am very very excited about this position and look forward to get started," Holtzman said during a quick phone interview Thursday afternoon. 

Holtzman is supposed to start her job on Feb. 22.

"I look forward to working with Ms. Holtzman to ensure the zoning office runs as smoothly as possible for the citizens of Hoboken," Zimmer said in a press release Thursday afternoon. This new hire brings the Zoning office to full staffing.

"We can now begin integrating all of our Community Development departments to work in better harmony together," Zimmer added.

Holtzman was involved in Hoboken's Master Plan preparation process. Holtzman said she would be paying special attention to a remediation of that plan, saying now is a "critical time in that process."

According to Holtzman's resume, she became a New Jersey State Certified Zoning Officer in 2009. 

Holtzman is also a member of the Hoboken Southwest Parks Coalition, the Hoboken Quality of Life Coalition and the Mason Civic Association. 

"She has been passionate about Hoboken's community development for many years," Zimmer said.
