Menendez, Sires Up for Re-Election in Tuesday's Primaries
Democrats can head to the polls on Tuesday.

While the real political fight is raging in other parts of Hudson County as well as nearby Bergen and Passaic counties, Hobokenites can head to the polls on Tuesday during the New Jersey primary elections.
In November, both of Hoboken's incumbents—Congressman Albio Sires and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez—are up for reelection together with President Barack Obama. Newcomer Michael Shurin, 25, is running against Sires in column C.
Sires, the incumbent of the eighth congressional district of which Hoboken is part, was first elected as congressman in 2006. Before that he served as mayor of West New York as well as New Jersey Assemblyman. Menendez, a native of Union City and its former mayor, was elected to the Senate in 2006.
