Middle School Staff Member Exposed Self To 2 Girls: Hudson County Prosecutor

A middle school staff member in Hudson County has been charged with sex crimes against 2 female students, prosecutors said Friday.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A staff member at a Hudson County middle school has been charged with two counts of sexual assault for exposing himself to two students, prosecutors said.

Oder Sogutcu, 36, of Garfield has been charged with two counts of sexual assault by contact and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office on Friday.

Sogutcu worked as an IT professional at Hudson Arts and Science Middle School, a charter school, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that two female students under age 13 reported that last October, Sogutcu exposed himself to them and "asked them to engage in sexual conduct."

Sogutcu was arrested at the charter school’s district office, located in Fair Lawn, prosecutors said.

He was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await a first appearance in court, prosecutors said.
