Bow-And-Arrow Killing Ends With Overnight Standoff In Burning NJ Home
The victim was shot in the back outside of a hair salon, reports say.
KEARNY NJ — Police have arrested a man who fatally shot a victim in the back with a bow-and-arrow and barricaded himself in a burning apartment Sunday, according to published reports.
Police were dispatched to a hair salon near the corner of Kearny and Johnson avenues around 6 p.m. on Saturday night where a man had been felled by an arrow, according to a report by ABC7.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office noted that police found a man "who appeared to have been struck by a pointed object and died as a result of his injuries."

Residents of streets near the standoff were asked to shelter in place on Saturday night. But then the situation escalated.
"5 o'clock in the morning when it started, the fire, the SWAT, they tell me everybody out," Ana Cristina Pacheco told ABC7.
The Red Cross noted at least four homes had to be evacuated.
After firefighters extinguished the blaze Sunday, the suspect came out of the apartment armed with knives and was arrested, prosecutors said.
As of Monday morning, officials had not released the suspect's name or confirmed the weapon used. But the New York Times and other media outlets identified the weapon as a bow and arrow.
The Times also said the victim was Pablo Criollo of Harrison.
Kearny's firefighters' union posted condolences on social media, describing the incident as "one that is typically only read about in training or mock scenarios."
"We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family affected by the horrifying incident that occurred yesterday," they wrote. "Our thoughts remain with them during this incredibly difficult time."
