Missing 10-Year-Old Girl From Jersey City Is Found: Update

A 10-year-old girl disappeared from Jersey City. The NJ State Police released a video (below) that showed her at the mall with a man.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A missing 10-year-old girl from Jersey City, last seen at a local mall with an unidentified man, has been found safe, said a Jersey City police spokeswoman.

"Following a citizen’s tip regarding her possible location, Jersey City Police Department Detectives responded to an address within the Salem-Lafayette apartment complex at approximately 1 p.m." on Monday, said a city police spokeswoman.

The girl was in good health, and her parents were immediately notified and responded, the spokeswoman said.

As a precaution, EMTs were dispatched to provide a medical evaluation.

The investigation remains ongoing, the spokesperson said.

She said, "Mayor Steven Fulop and Public Safety Director James Shea extend their sincere thanks to the JCPD’s Missing Person Unit and all partnering agencies at the state and county level, including the New Jersey State Police and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, for their swift coordination and efforts that led to a safe resolution."

Earlier Reporting

Initially, Jersey City police said the girl was last seen at 7 a.m. at her home, but state police on Sunday posted a video that they said showed her with an unidentified man Thursday evening (see video below).

They were at the Newport Centre Mall, near the Jersey City waterfront, and were heading toward an exit.

The Jersey City police said, "Divine frequents areas such as Lincoln Park, West Side Avenue, and the McDonald's in Communipaw Avenue, as well as multiple addresses in the Bronx."
