Multiple Bikes Stolen in Hoboken

Police blotter

Now that the weather is looking up and more people will be using their bike to get around Hoboken, make sure to lock your bycicles. At least five bikes were reported stolen this weekend, as well as one car, according to police reports.

The following information comes from police reports from the Hoboken Police Department.

  • Two bikes were allegedly stolen at Fifth and Washington Streets on Friday between 1:30 and 2 p.m. A 25-year-old Jersey City woman parked her and her mother's bike on Washington Street to go into a pet store. When she walked out half an hour later, the bikes were gone. Together, the bikes were worth about $834.
  • Last Wednesday, a 41-year-old Hoboken man found his mountain bikes missing from the garage of his private residence. The last time he had seen the bikes before then, was Dec. 18, 2011, he told police.
  • A 27-year-old Hobokenite realized his $1,800 mountain bike was missing on Saturday when he wanted to retrieve it from the garage on downtown Harrison Street. The garage is part of the five story complex with 19 apartments.
  • A 31-year-old Hoboken resident told police his car was stolen on Saturday. He told police he had parked it in uptown Hoboken, but couldn't find the vehicle when he went to retrieve it on Saturday.

No arrests were made in any of these cases.
