Hoboken's Newest Food Truck Is "F'in Delicious"

Molly's Milktruck, whose motto is "F'in Delicious. F'in Nutritious" officially opens on Sunday.

It was a year ago—over cocktails down the shore during Memorial Day weekend—that Hoda Mahmoodzadegan and Jason Avon hit it off. 

After the weekend, Mahmoodzadegan showed him her business plan and Hoboken's newest food truck was born. 

Mahmoodzadegan, 26—together with Avon and third partner Jonathan Minardi—is opening Molly's Milktruck on Sunday with a celebration in downtown Hoboken. All the food will be free on Sunday, the mayor is scheduled to attend and a tent will be set up on Frank Sinatra Drive and Newark Street.

After recent changes , it has been a challenge to get everything ready, but the team is ready, Mahmoodzadegan said in a phone interview on Friday afternoon. 

"We want to be a part of the community," Mahmoodzadegan said.

After the city changed the food truck law, simultaneously increasing the annual cost to run a truck in town, multiple food trucks—such as , and —.

"It's been a really tough journey," Mahmoodzadegan said. She added that the truck is supposed to complement brick and mortar businesses in town. Mahmoodzadegan said she hopes to strike up a partnership with and offer customers specials.

Mahmoodzadegan's idea for the truck, which will offer healthy food at a low price, came from personal experience.

"I was overweight and unhealthy," she said. 

While still working a corporate job in New York, she said she lost a lot of weight. And, to prevent eating only grilled chicken with lettuce for the rest of her life, she said she learned how to cook healthfully. 

Mahmoodzadegan lives in Leonia but said that she is looking to move to town soon. 

"We want to be part of the community," she said.
