Parts Of Newark Street To Close Each Day For Hoboken/Jersey City Project: See When
A project to upgrade drinking water delivery will require closing different parts of Newark Street in Hoboken and Jersey City all week.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Jersey City Municipal Utility Authority interconnection project — meant to upgrade infrastructure that provides
clean drinking water to residents of Hoboken and Jersey City — will cause portions of Newark Street to close during the day all week.
These are the scheduled closures, all between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
- On Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19, Newark Street will be closed in both directions between Madison and Adams Streets. A lane shift on Observer Highway will prohibit westbound traffic from turning onto Henderson Street.
- On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Newark Street will be closed in both directions between Madison and Henderson Streets. Northbound Henderson Street/Marin Boulevard will be closed between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City.
- On Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 22, Newark Street will be closed in the eastbound direction only, between Madison and Henderson Streets. Henderson Street/Marin Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City.
Hoboken and Jersey City police officers will be on site to assist with detours, traffic control, and pedestrian safety, local officials said.

Detours and changing electric signs will be in place.
Drivers are advised to leave extra time entering or exiting Hoboken via southern routes during the JCMUA work hours.
