
Delays on the NJ Transit Light Rail are expected to occur on Sunday morning, due to an emergency drill.
NJ Transit police, together with state, local and federal agencies, will conduct a training exercise on June 3, inside the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail tunnel on the Union City-Weehawken border. The agencies will test the response of multiple agencies to a simulated train accident.
The North Hudson Fire Department, Weehawken and Union City Policedepartments and Offices of Emergency Management; Hudson County Office of Emergency Management; NJ EMS Taskforce; Weehawken EMS; and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force will all partake in the exercise.

The exercise will start at 9 a.m. and last about three hours. Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service will terminate at Port Imperial Station in Weehawken during the drill.
There'll be buses for customers between Port Imperial, Bergenline Avenue and Tonnelle Avenue. Traveling may take more time.

In addition, customers may notice police and emergency personnel in the tunnels, and local residents may see activity in the staging areas outside the tunnels on Port Imperial Boulevard.
Light rail service will resume normal schedule after 1 p.m.
