NJ TV: City and NJ Transit Still Differ on Plans for Downtown Development
The city has drafted a plan for the site, proposing less development than the state agency is proposing.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Councilwoman Terry Castellano appeared in a recent report by NJ TV, commenting on the proposed downtown development of the New Jersey Transit site.
which will have to go in front of the city's planning board and ultimately has to be approved by the City Council. NJ Transit has which includes a higher density of development and would allow taller buildings.
"We just want to make sure to protect the character of Hoboken," Zimmer said in the NJ TV segment. "We want something that supports on and builds on what's so fantastic about this city."

Both plans—the one from the city as well as the one by NJ Transit—were presented to the city council earlier this fall. There are still some differences between what the two are proposing.
"I think we're going to wind up in court," said Castellano, who represents much of the downtown area which includes the Lackawanna Terminal.
