Rubin was asked if the person was arrested and if there were charges. Patch will update the story when information is released.

"The general public was never in danger due to this incident," she said. "The Hoboken Police Department would like to thank residents for their cooperation and patience."

Earlier police had asked the public to avoid Willow Avenue and Observer Highway. Some commuter buses were diverted.

In the last few months, there were situations in which police shut down an area of Hoboken because of gunshots.
