Police: Homeless Man Assaults EMT Worker

A man allegedly assaulted an Hoboken EMT worker while being treated.

A 24-year-old ambulance worker was allegedly assaulted Tuesday night, at the Hoboken University Medical Center. 

The 24-year-old Jersey City resident was dispatched to Pier A Park where he found an intoxicated man lying on the ground, police said. The man—56-year-old Robert Williams from Jersey City—is a resident of the Hoboken Homeless Shelter at 300 Bloomfield St., according to the police report. 

While Williams was being treated at the hospital, he allegedly lashed out to the EMT worker and punched him in the face.

Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, police said.
