Police: Man Charged with Wrongful Impersonation to Buy Multiple iPhones in Hoboken

The incident happened over the course of multiple days at the Verizon store in Hoboken.

Hoboken police arrested a 28-year-old North Bergen resident for allegedly buying multiple iPhones on a false identity, according to police reports.

Luis Deleon first entered the Verizon store on Fifth and Washington Streets over the weekend, police said, when he purchased two iPHones 4S. He signed a contract with Verizon and paid for the merchandise in cash, police said.

Deleon told the employee at Verizon that he wanted the Egg Harbor-based company Exclusive Jewelers named on the bill, police said.
