NEW JERSEY — After weeks of residents asking questions about large drones hovering over New Jersey, Saturday Night Live weighed in over the weekend with a segment on "Weekend Update" — and what may be the nicest Jersey joke ever told.

On the segment, co-host Michael Che referred to the "Mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey."

"This week, the FAA issued temporary flight restrictions over New Jersey as mysterious drone sightings continue with no real answers," he said. "Here to comment is a drone."

Actor Bowen Yang appeared in his finest drone regalia.

"I don't have to explain myself to anyone at any time for any reason," he said. "is it UFOs? is it military? ...What is so threatening about random machines in the night sky?"

"Why are you in New Jersey?" Che asked.

"Um, why is anyone in New Jersey?" Yang asked, to laughter.

But then he got serious — and gave the very satisfying answer New Jerseyans have wanted to hear for years.

"Oh right, 'cause there's beautiful nature and good schools," he said.

He concluded, "All these dumb theories...how 'bout you ask your government."

So there you have it — the drones moved to New Jersey for the schools.
