St. Ann's Festival Kicks Off Wednesday In Hoboken: See Full Schedule

HOBOKEN, NJ — The 114th St. Ann's Festival kicks off on Wednesday, July 24, and runs through Sunday, July 28.

The popular religious festival is known for live music, tasty Italian treats, and the procession of a 600-pound statue of St. Ann through the streets.

Around the turn of the last century, immigrants from San Giacomo, Italy arrived in Hoboken and founded the St. Ann’s Society. St. Ann, the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus, is the patron saint of mothers, women trying to get pregnant, and more.

The St. Ann's Society finished building the church in 1906 and began holding the annual festival in 1910. Now it's held each year at Seventh and Jefferson streets near St. Ann's Church.

The festival was canceled in 2020 during the pandemic, and then slowly has built back, with DJ's providing music the following year. Last year,
the festival had a full lineup of live acts.

The festival is well-known enough that it lured Frank Sinatra back to town in 1984 while campaigning with Pres. Ronald Reagan (See Regan's "Remarks At The St. Ann's Festival In Hoboken, NJ" in the Reagan Library here.)
