
For the 140th year, Stevens Institute of Technology will be graduating a brand new class of engineers on Thursday.
At 10:30 a.m. Stevens Alum Greg Gianforte will address the undergraduate class of 2012. Gianforte, CEO and founder of RichtNow Technologies, is a serial entrepreneur and innovated in the computer and software industries. RightNow as one of the most successful Initial Public Offerings of 2004 and ultimately sold his company for $1.5 billion to Oracle.
Senior Robert Williams has been named valedictorian, graduating with both a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science.

"When I was younger I wanted to get the big career, move up the ladder, make lots of money and get lots of power," said Williams in a press release. "But at Stevens I realized that there are so many better things to focus on. I saw the importance of getting your priorities straight early on so you don’t waste your life on something that isn’t fulfilling in the long-term."
Williams, a Woodbury Heights native, was also a member of the Stevens Christian Fellowship and the Hoboken Grace Community Church, he was active in volunteer work on campus and in the community.

At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dr. Jeong Kim will speak at the graduate ceremony. Kim, who will receive an honorary degree from Stevens, is president of Bell Labs and chief strategy officer for Alcatel Lucent.
