
Two officers were promoted on Thursday afternoon in City Hall, as part of the city's effort to fill the police department's table of organization.
Together with friends, family and colleagues, John Orrico and Steve Aguiar celebrated their step up in the department.
Orrico, who has been on the force for 19 years was promoted to lieutenant. Aguiar was promoted to sergeant and is a 10 year veteran of the department.

"I'm pleased that the mayor is honoring her commitment to fill the table of organization," said Police Benevolence Association President Vince Lombardi. "I'm anticipating the announcement of more police officers."
Mayor Dawn Zimmer said that the city is in the process of applying for grants to hire more cops.

The city will also swear in a Class II officer, who will be working for the department on a part time basis.
With these promotions, the table of organization of the upper ranks has been filled.
President of the Police Superior Officers Association Eddie Drishti said he couldn't be more pleased.
"In a year and a half we went from to four ," Drishti said. "It's a good morale booster for the department."
Earlier this month, the city promoted Tory Pasculli to captain.
Zimmer said she was involved in the process of promoting the officers, saying she was impressed with the personnel files of Orrico and Aguiar.
