Two Lockers Burglarized at Washington Street Gym

More than $700 in personal belongings stolen from two lockers.

Two men were in for a rude awakening after a work out at Planet Fitness on Wednesday night when they found their lockers burglarized, according to police reports. 

A 28-year-old North Arlington man arrived at the gym around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, put his stuff in a locker, closed it and began his work out. 

Around the same time a 25-year-old Hobokenite went through the same routine, placing his belongings in a locker before burning off the day's calories.

When the men returned to their lockers around respectively 8 and 8:15 p.m., they noticed the locks on their lockers broken, police said. 

About $460 in belongings was stolen from the North Arlington man, including his blackberry, credit cards, $60 in cash and an adidas bag.

The Hoboken resident was robbed of roughly $317 in personal belongings, including $190 in cash, $40 pants as well as his credit cards, keys and driver's licence, police said. 

There are no surveillance cameras in the gym's locker room. 

This is not the first time gym lockers have been burglarized.occured this winter.
