Affordable And Senior Housing Wait List Opens In Hoboken
The wait list for low-income Hoboken Housing Authority units, including for seniors and those with disabilities, has opened briefly.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The waitlist for affordable housing units in Hoboken has opened, but if you're interested, don't wait too long. It rarely opens, and this time it will close on Friday at 4 p.m.
The list applies to the partly government subsidized units run by the Hoboken Housing Authority on the west side of town, including Fox Hill, a building for seniors and those with disabilities on 13th Street.
A spokesperson said that there is no preference given for those already living in Hoboken.

The HHA sent a press release with more details and instructions:
The Hoboken Housing Authority, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhance community living by providing sustainable housing for low-income individuals and families, announced a pivotal milestone in its mission to revitalize public housing in Hoboken. Today at 8 a.m. we opened the application wait list portal.
Our application portal for the public housing waitlist and the project-based voucher waitlist at Fox Hill Gardens is live until Friday, May 30, at 4 p.m. Please visit www.myhhanj.com/apply.
Unit sizes for pre-application for the public housing wait list range from studios to four-bedroom apartments. Adams, Monroe, and Fox Hill Garden apartments are available only to elderly or disabled individuals.
Once a pre-application is submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation email and must verify their selected preferences, including an application number. This number does NOT represent the applicant's placement on the waitlist. Placement will be made by lottery, and only 100 applicants per unit size will be selected.
Applicants who need assistance completing the online application may call us at (201) 798-0370 or stop by our main office at 400 Harrison St., Hoboken, NJ 07030.
“We are excited to open the awaited applications waitlist for affordable housing in Hoboken,” said HHA Director of Management Yesenia VillaFane.

The Hoboken Housing Authority is a state non-profit organization that's been around for 76 years. It's overseen by a paid executive director and staff, as well as a volunteer Board of Commissioners, largely appointed by local officials.
The HHA manages 1,353 units of subsidized units, including senior housing. The buildigs for families are: Andrew Jackson Gardens, Harrison Gardens, and Christopher Columbus Gardens. Senior buildings include Fox Hill Gardens, Adams Gardens, and Monroe Gardens.
Over the next 10 years, the Housing Authority has a plan to tear down and rebuild the units, temporarily moving residents from one building to the other as they do. Read about that here: Hoboken Will Demolish, Rebuild Public Housing Projects Over 10 Years: Here's The Lowdown
