Water Main Break Affects Both Hoboken And Jersey City: Officials
A water main break near the Jersey City/Hoboken border is affecting traffic and water service, officials said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A water main break near the Jersey City/Hoboken border is affecting both cities, but in different ways, officials said Thursday morning.

The break is only affecting water service in Jersey City, not Hoboken. But it's tying up traffic near Hoboken's southern entrance, officials said.

They encouraged drivers to use the northern entrances and exits to town.
"Please be advised that an overnight water main break on Grove Street in Jersey City is causing significant traffic disruptions in Hoboken, particularly on southern routes into and out of the city," the city of Hoboken said in an email message shortly before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

"Veolia and JCMUA are on site making repairs. Grove Street will remain closed between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City for the duration of repairs, which are anticipated to take all day. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate, northern, routes to exit and enter the City today
"Water service is not expected to be impacted in Hoboken."
