Sure, Ferry Is $3 When Hoboken PATH Train Closes, But There's A Catch
The NY Waterway ferry is $3 while the Hoboken PATH station is closed, but you need to do 2 things to be eligible. See updates below.
HOBOKEN, NJ — When Hoboken's PATH train station closes for upgrades from Jan. 31 to Feb. 25, other transportation modes into Manhattan and Jersey City will increase service. Among these is the NY Waterway Ferry, which will be $3 — but there's a catch.
Riders will have to show that they're PATH commuters to get the discount. That's because they are "cross honoring" the PATH tickets, which are normally $3.

- Have a SmartLink Card, MetroCard or digital pass in the RidePATH app.
- Show both at boarding, not just the pass.
- You must update the RidePATH app to access the digital pass.
Also:
- You do not have to have proof of funds on the cards.
- This discount cannot be used for those who have already bought a monthly ferry pass.
