You Can Get Piece Of Hoboken History Before House Is Demolished: Estate Sale In Final Days
People protested an application to demolish the 1850s home of former Hoboken historian Jim Hans, but it passed. The estate sale continues.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Earlier this year, the family of Hoboken historian Jim Hans — who passed away a year ago at age 87 — applied to demolish their historic home on Third Street. The home was built some time between the late 1840s and 1851, historians determined, but engineers said it has fallen into disrepair.
While history lovers said the home should be saved, the city's Historic Preservation Commission approved the application to demolish it.
Hans was an artist and collector, and some of his goods have been sold in an estate sale held first last month. Now, according to signage, the sale is in its final days.
