Motorcyclist Dies Following Crash In Holmdel, Police Say

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday when a motorcycle struck a guardrail while driving on Pleasant Valley Road, police said.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Holmdel on Sunday morning, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Holmdel Police responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on Pleasant Valley Road involving a single motorcycle.

A preliminary investigation found that the motorcycle was driving on Pleasant Valley when it struck a guardrail, police said.

The person driving the motorcycle was treated on scene by Holmdel Police, Marlboro Police, the Holmdel First Aid Squad, and Hackensack Meridian paramedics before being brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

According to the NJ State Police's Fatal Crash Database, the driver has died.

As of Sunday evening, police said speed and reckless driving do not appear to be contributing factors to the crash. Authorities did not release the name of the driver.

Following the incident, Pleasant Valley Road was temporarily closed from Route 34 to its intersection with Igoe Road while officers conducted an on-scene investigation. The road has since reopened.
