2 Charged In Theft From Holmdel Best Buy Wanted In Other Cases: Police

Holmdel Police found multiple items stolen from stores across New Jersey; the pair are being sought in New York cases as well, police said.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Two men were charged with stealing laptops and cell phones from Best Buy on Wednesday, and Holmdel Police say they're wanted in multiple New Jersey towns and elsewhere for similar thefts.

Jesus Sandovalhuaman, 36, and Willie Cedenoalcivar, 41, were arrested and charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property, according to authorities.

The two were arrested after police responded to a report of two people trying to bypass anti-theft devices at a Holmdel Best Buy.

Sandovalhuaman and Cedenoalcivar fled the store when alarms were triggered on multiple laptops and cell phones, police said.

Police later found the vehicle the two men took off in and pulled it over. In the vehicle, they found the laptops and cell phones taken from Best Buy along with multiple items stolen from stores in Holmdel and other towns across the state, police said.

Sandovalhuaman and Cedenoalcivar were also found to have warrants out of New York for similar offenses, police said.

During processing, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security notified Holmdel Police that Sandovalhuaman and Cedenoalcivar had detainers based out of California.

Both men are being held at the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Township.
