Advancing Women In Technology Topic Of Holmdel Bell Works Panel

On Thursday at Bell Works in Holmdel, a panel of "technology trailblazers" will discuss how women can thrive in the tech industry.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The first New Jersey Women in Technology forum, at Bell Works on Thursday evening, will examine ways to advance women in technology - a still "severely underrepresented" demographic, organizers say.

Hosted by NextTech Communications in partnership with TechUnited:NJ, the panel will discuss paths for women in the tech industry, while helping to foster new connections.

The event starts at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Bell Works, 101 Crawfords Corner Road. The event is free of charge, but you still have time to register here.

Panelists include Jenna Gaudio, COO of Vydia, and Amanda Pietrocola, president and CEO of Momentum Technologies, who will take part in a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Janine Savarese, CEO of NextTech Communications. JasmineWard, vice president of strategy and operation at TechUnited:NJ will also participate.

  • Emerging technology trends based on panelist niches and specialties, including environmental tech and content delivery.
  • Nontraditional opportunities in tech and STEM, with a focus on closing the gender gap across tech sector.
  • Personal stories on overcoming challenges such as imposter syndrome and gender bias, and finding growth opportunities to building a successful career path.
  • Other topics include a discussion of the future of tech industry in New Jersey and how to support women in tech fields; and a discussion of what technology can accomplish for society, including tech equity.

The free event is Thursday, April 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Here's the schedule:

  • 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Pre-panel reception
  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Moderated panel with Q&A session
  • 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Networking reception

Previously the New Jersey Tech Council, TechUnited:NJ provides business development, education, networking and recognition opportunities as well as advocacy for the state and region’s technology businesses.

Founded in 1996, TechUnited:NJ is a private, nonprofit membership organization that supports the tech, innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems across the state and region, the organization says.
