Be A Fossil Hunter At Annual Community Fossil Hunt Event
Citizens For Informed Land Use will host their annual fossil hunt on Saturday, Sept. 28.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Join local geologist and fossil hunter Dr. Jim Brown at Citizens for Informed Land Use's Fossil Hunt event on Sept. 28.
From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., attendees will be able to walk through the Ramanessin streambed to search for fossils.
According to officials, shark teeth are abundant in the area but attendees may also be able to unearth fossilized shells and bones at the event.

"We'll share what we find as we learn all about the sea creatures that once lived right here in Holmdel," event officials said. "Budding paleontologists might just go home with some of their own treasures to keep."
Attendees are encouraged to bring water shoes or old sneakers, a towel, bug spray, sunscreen, water, a trowel and a bucket or bag to the event.

Limited sifting equipment will be provided, and event attendees will meet at the Holmdel Village School parking lot on the corner of McCampbell Road and Middletown Road across from the Ramanessin Trailhead.
Event attendance is free and registration is not required. Children must be accompanied by an adult at the event.
In case of rain, the event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29.
