BOE Election: For the Anonymous - It's about Politics, Not Education
Actions speak louder than slogans. Unfortunately, for some it's actually about politics, not education and their actions fail our children.

Holmdelians — it’s time to stand together. Integrity still matters in Holmdel!
Each BOE election season, the same pattern of negativity resurfaces, driven by people hiding behind anonymous pages with one goal in mind: to tear down the reputations of good people.
Many of these targets are lifelong Holmdel residents and families who have built incredible reputations over decades living in our community.

This year's targets - Myself and my two colleagues on the BOE, John Buckley and Jeff Mann.
I’ve known John my entire life, having both grown up in Holmdel, and have had the privilege of working alongside both him and Jeff over the past three years.

They’re stand-up guys, devoted fathers, and true community leaders who care deeply about doing what’s best for Holmdel’s students and families.
Together, we’ve achieved meaningful, measurable results for our students, schools and community.

In contrast, we see a familiar playbook every BOE election season.
A “BOE bracket” Facebook page is recycled each year — scrubbed clean and relaunched.
Some campaigns appear to rely on these pages rather than focusing on direct community engagement and transparent dialogue.
Anonymous pages are also created to discredit those who are working hard to serve.
It’s unfortunate and disheartening because this behavior discourages good, honest people from stepping up to serve on the Board of Education — and ultimately, that hurts our children.
Let’s come together as a community, reject this negativity, and stand for what Holmdel truly represents: respect, integrity, and unity.
Whenever you come across an anonymous page, take a moment to question the motive — and remember that those working transparently for our schools deserve our support.
Sharing an image of a memo I wrote after last year’s election, as the same behavior continues, and the only way it stops is when people stop enabling those who spread negativity.
