Candidates Sought For Open Seat On Hazlet Board Of Education

The board is accepting applications for the vacant seat now through 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

HAZLET, NJ — The Hazlet Board of Education is looking for applicants to fill a vacant seat on the board.

Anyone interested in filling the spot is being asked to send or email a resume and letter of interest to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Candidates will be interviewed by the Board of Education, in open session, at the board’s Feb. 24 meeting. The term of this appointment will run through December 2025.

For those interested in becoming a Board of Education member, you must meet all of the following qualifications:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be able to read and write
  • Be a resident of Hazlet Township for at least one year preceding the date of appointment
  • Be registered to vote in the district
  • Not be directly/indirectly interested in a contract with or claim against the board
  • Not be disqualified pursuant to R.S. 19:4.1
