Citizens For Informed Land Use To Host Online Food Waste Seminar

CILU will team up with Jersey Shore Food Waste Coalition to host the free discussion on Nov. 18.

HOLMDEL, NJ — The Citizens for Informed Land Use (CILU) will be teaming up with the Jersey Shore Food Waste Coalition for a free discussion about food waste on Nov. 18.

The “Erase Food Waste” seminar will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom, CILU Publicity VP Jen Ashkar said.

The event will feature CILU and founding members of the Jersey Shore Food Waste Coalition, Sandra Talarico and Denelle Godek.

Throughout the seminar, Ashkar said participants will gain insight into the scale of food waste in the community and learn how it contributes to food insecurity and environmental issues.

“Though engaging discussions and practical tips, attendees will discover effective strategies to reduce waste in their daily lives and promote sustainable practices within their communities,” Ashkar said.

Founded in 1998, Citizens for Informed Land Use is a non-profit organization that aims to protect open space and natural resources. Based in Holmdel, CILU’s goals include saving land, limiting overdevelopment, supporting open space and more.
