So many people I have spoken to regarding DePalma Farm are in disbelief that the township misled them. Therefore, I decided to post all the facts related to this.
First, the records show that DePalma farm is comprised of two Blocks: 50.19 containing 61 acres that is NOT Green Acres and 50.27 containing 34 acres which is Green Acres funded.

Second, the township’s posting on Facebook:

This post attempts to dispel rumors and confirm that “this property is officially listed on the Holmdel’s Green Acres.” Unfortunately, if you don’t read the fine print, this appears to describe all of DePalma farm. The fact is it only refers to block 50.27( the much smaller Green Acres parcel) mentioned next to the title and NOT the second larger parcel as is indicated in the records.
Lastly, the township’s attorney confirms in his letter to the DePalmas that only a portion of the property is subject to the DEP’s Green Acres regulations.

So, why would they not want to discuss the open bidding of the larger second parcel block 50.19 of the DePalma farm that is not Green Acres encumbered and contains 61 acres? Because they know all too well that it has the potential to be one of the largest developments of open space in Holmdel’s history.
