Driver Had Suspended License In Fatal Holmdel Bicyclist Crash

HOLMDEL, NJ — The man who struck and killed a 65-year-old bicyclist from Holmdel was driving with a suspended license at the time of the crash, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

John Baradekji, 28, of Manalapan, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license while being involved in a fatal crash, prosecutors said.

The bicyclist, later identified as Timothy Neher, of Holmdel, was found in the road at Bethany Road and Galway Drive on Aug. 12 when Holmdel Police answered a call about the crash.

Neher was transported to Bayshore Medical Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries later that morning, prosecutors said.

Investigators later found that Neher was hit by a 2008 Kia that Baradekji drove. Prosecutors did not release further details about the incident.

The Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team, the Major Crimes Bureau of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Holmdel Police Department investigated.
