Driver Dies After Hitting 2 People At PNC Bank Arts Center, State Police Say

NJ State Police said the woman suffered a medical episode and lost control of her vehicle before hitting two pedestrians.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A woman died after losing control of her vehicle and hitting a car and two people at the PNC Bank Arts Center on Tuesday, NJ State Police Trooper Christopher Postorino told Patch.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, troopers responded to the crash in the parking lot of the PNC Bank Arts Center.

Based on a preliminary investigation, Postorino said Nancy C. Johnston, 85, of Wharton, was driving a Subaru and exiting the parking lot when she suffered a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle.

The Subaru then collided with a parked Ford Bronco and two pedestrians, Postorino said.

As a result of the crash, Johnston sustained fatal injuries, and the two people struck were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. As of Wednesday afternoon, NJ State Police said no additional information is available.
