Drunk Driver Slams Into Deck Behind Holmdel Home: Police

Anthony Hernandez was arrested after police said he failed to stop at the intersection of Crawfords Corner-Everett Road.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A man was arrested Thursday night after driving under the influence and crashing onto the backyard deck of a Holmdel residence, Holmdel Police said.

Anthony Hernandez, 28, of North Plainfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, disregard of a stop sign and traffic on marked lanes.

Hernandez was driving down West Front Street when he failed to stop at the intersection of Crawfords Corner-Everett Road, police said.

His car then drove through the intersection and went up a berm before hitting a tree.

After hitting the tree, police said Hernandez’s car rolled over and landed on the backyard deck of a Holmdel residence.

Hernandez was transported to a hospital after complaining of pain in his head. The passenger in Hernandez’s vehicle sustained no injuries, according to police.
