Edmund Gill, State Trooper and Holmdel Resident, Dies at 86
Edmund received the Distinguished Service Medal from the governor of New Jersey for his heroic service.

Edmund A. Gill, 86, of Holmdel, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on May 12, surrounded by his loving family.
Edmund was born on Feb. 17, 1927, in Kearny, N.J., to Patrick and Mary Gill (nee Carroll). He was a N.J. State Police trooper for 27 years and retired as a lieutenant. Edmund received the Distinguished Service Medal from the governor of New Jersey for his heroic service. He served as a merchant seaman during World War II.
Edmund was predeceased by his dear son, Timothy Gill, and is survived by his beloved wife of over 62 years, Josephine E. Gill (nee Friel), and his loving children, Deborah, Patrick, John, along with his grandchildren, Tiffany, Jennifer, Kevin and Casey, and seven great- grandchildren. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
