At home

  • Let your faucets drip to prevent freezing water from pipes to burst.
  • Make sure your pipes are properly insulated and leave cabinet doors open around pipes so they can receive warmth flowing through your home.
  • Protect/ bring outdoor plants inside.
  • Provide shelter for pets and check on the elderly.
  • Have a flashlight and extra batteries available. Avoid using candles since these can be a fire hazard.
