Fake Pest Control Company Stole Nearly $300K From Holmdel Business: Prosecutor

The men behind the scheme were charged with taking almost $296,000 from the business using stolen credit card information, prosecutors said.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Two men have been charged in connection with stealing nearly $300,000 from a Holmdel-based company by creating a fake pest control company to obtain stolen credit card information, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

Jacob Gindi, 33, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Jimmy Dabbah, 34, of the Gravesend section of Brooklyn, were both charged with computer theft, conspiracy to commit theft, theft by unlawful taking and two counts of financial facilitation of criminal activity, Santiago said.

Investigators found that in May 2023, Dabbah opened an account with the victim using a business named “Rapid Pest Control.”

Over the span of 10 days late in 2023, prosecutors said Rapid Pest Control accessed the victim’s company software and credit card payment platform, then conducted over 750 fraudulent transactions using stolen credit card information.

The transactions amounted to nearly $296,000 in theft, Santiago said.

The victim determined that, despite the transactions, Rapid Pest Control never performed any actual pest-control services for clients, prosecutors said.

Investigators also found that a majority of the stolen funds were transferred from Rapid Pest Control’s bank account to two companies controlled by Gindi, PCO Marketing Inc. and Infinity Trading Solutions, LLC.

Gindi used the funds to pay credit card, car, and tuition bills, as well as other personal expenses, Santiago said.

Gindi and Dabbah turned themselves in to authorities earlier this week. When Dabbah was scanned by a metal detector, prosecutors said he was found to be in possession of a knife concealed in his belt buckle and was subsequently charged with a third- and fourth-degree weapons offense.

Both Gindi and Dabbah were released on their own recognizance pending future proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court, Santiago said.

First appearances for both men have been tentatively scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Anyone with information on Gindi and Dabbah's activities is being asked to contact Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Michael Acquaviva at 800-533-7443.
