'Goal: Zero' Enforcement Detail Planned In Holmdel
The high-visibility campaign aims to confront the rise in traffic deaths New Jersey has seen in recent years.
HOLMDEL, NJ — Drivers on Laurel Avenue can expect an increased police presence on Thursday when the Holmdel Township Police Department’s next “Goal: Zero” campaign takes place.
The county-wide enforcement detail is scheduled to be on the road from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, police said, and is held in efforts to confront the “staggering rise in traffic deaths NJ has seen in recent years.”
As of April 17, police said 142 people have lost their lives on NJ roadways in 2025, with four of these deaths occurring in Monmouth County.

By implementing “Goal: Zero” enforcement details, police hope to lower the number of traffic accidents and deaths throughout the state.
“Traffic safety culture and driving behaviors need to change in order to keep people alive on NJ roadways,” Holmdel Police said. “Law enforcement agencies in Monmouth County are dedicated to lowering these numbers and keeping our roadways safe.”

As a result of law enforcement’s 2024 details, officers in Monmouth County stopped 2,276 vehicles and issued 1,400 summonses, which included 129 speeding violations, 97 cell phone violations, three reckless driving violations and more.
