Though the weather forecast is calling for a stormy weekend with an incoming nor’easter and threats of coastal flooding, there are plenty of indoor activities happening around Monmouth County to check out, and some local festivals as well.

- Location: Bell Works
- Details: Enjoy a variety of cat-themed activities, talks, panels and even meet some adoptable cats and kittens at the Catsbury Park Cat Convention this weekend. Tickets are required and can be found here.

- Details: Enjoy tastings of wine, beer, and spirits with food, a craft vendor market, live music and more at Red Bank Oktoberfest. Tasting wristbands/packages require tickets.

- Details: Enjoy wagon rides, live music, a petting zoo, inflatable attractions and more at Holmdel Township’s 2025 Harvest Fest. The event will conclude with a showing of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” followed by fireworks.

- Details: For those looking to get a head start on Halloween celebrations, you can take a walk through Brookdale’s Haunted Theater with pitch-black passages, immersive set designs, special effects and more. Tickets required.

- Location: Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street, Middletown)
- Details: Spend Sunday evening with a showcase of original music and storytelling from singer-songwriters Stu Coogan, Leah Kremer, Michael Baine and Mark Healey.
