Hazlet Crash Caused Power Outages, Road Closure Friday: Police

HAZLET, NJ - A motor vehicle crash on Beers Street in Hazlet prompted power outages and commuting delays Friday afternoon in the township, authorities said.

The single-vehicle crash that occurred around 5 p.m. impacted a utility pole on Beers Street, which was closed between Barrier Drive and Garden Terrace, Hazlet police said.

No injuries were reported. JCP&L assessed the damage Friday afternoon, police said.

It was not immediately clear how many households were impacted by the power outages; a traffic light at Bethany Road/North Beers Street was affected, according to Holmdel police.

As of Saturday morning, there were no outages reported in Holmdel or Hazlet.
