Hazlet Day Returns Saturday

The township's Hazlet Day Saturday is complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, carnival games, face painting and more.

The Hazlet Township Police Department will be at Hazlet Day Saturday from 11a.m. to 4 pm. Stop by table in front of the Pool Club entrance to check out police gear, patrol cars, and meet some officers.  There will be valuable information and giveaways.

HAZLET, NJ — Mark your calendars, Hazlet residents: Hazlet Day is Saturday, Sept. 9, and all area families are invited to attend.

The festivities celebrating the township’s 175th anniversary will take place this year from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Veterans Park at 1776 Union Ave.

Activities at the free outdoor event are slated to include inflatables, a petting zoo, dunk tank, bungee trampoline, 24-foot mechanical rock wall, touch-a-truck, carnival games and face painting, plus live music and dancing courtesy of the Asbury Fever band and Perna Dance Center.

A 50/50 raffle drawing on behalf of the Hazlet First Aid Squad will take place at 4 p.m.

Over 98 booths featuring local business owners, civic organizations and nonprofits will also be in attendance.

And if you’re hungry, look no further: a dozen food trucks will be selling a variety of eats from empanadas, barbecue and egg rolls to lobster mac and cheese, tacos, bratwurst, plantains, grilled chicken and sausage and peppers on a roll and more.

Parking will be available at the Hazlet Swim Club parking lot. Attendees are urged to carpool or come on foot if possible due to anticipated traffic.

The Union Avenue entrance will be closed; motorists are advised to use the Middle Road entrance.
