Hazlet Township School District: Important Dates and Events Oct. ~ Nov.

As the school year begins there are many events to mark on the calendar:

• Schools are closed on the 13th for students. Parent teacher conferences will be held on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd with early dismissals on all of these days for students.

• At Raritan High School, there will be a Project Pride Assembly and a visit from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office on October 23rd. HSPA tests will be held on November 7th, 8th, and 9th and the SAT is being held on the 11th.

• At Hazlet Middle School there will be a PTO meeting in the media center on November 9th.

• At Beers Street Elementary, the week of October 6th is Week of Respect. During this week there is also picture day on the 7th, school spirit-wear pink for breast cancer day on the 10th, and progress reports come out on the 10th.

• The PTO Book Fair is being held on the 15th and the 16th. The week of the 20th is violence awareness week and during this week there will be a PTO United Nations Food Day on the 24th along with a Halloween Dance.

• At Cove Road Elementary School, the week of the 6th will be the Week of Respect with the 9th being Picture Day. The week of the 29th will be Violence Awareness Week and the 20th-22nd will be the PTO book fair. The Halloween dance is the 24th of October.

• At Lillian Drive Elementary, the school store will be open on October 10th and 24th. Book Club will be held on November 7th for Grades 1 and 2 and on the November 14th for grades 3 and 4. The PTO has many events in the month of October-Please check out the website for specific events and dates. Something new at Lillian Drive is the Family Reading Race; parents are invited to hand in a reading log each month, setting an example that reading is a wonderful daily habit to have for every age! The grade level with the most family participation will win the Family Reading Race!

• At Middle Road Elementary October 2nd the Fall Fundraiser ends and on the 3rd the Yankee Candle fundraiser begins. Progress reports are out on the 10th. The PTO events in October include an 80’s night on the 10th, a meeting on the 14th, and a pumpkin patch on the 23rd.

• At Raritan Valley Elementary the cookie dough fundraiser begins on the 29th of September and ends on October 8th. On October 10th there is family bingo and on the 14th there is a PTO meeting. The 15th is pink day and supply closet. On the 16th there is a Friday’s fundraiser and on the 17th it is gardening day. The Book Fair will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of October.

• At Sycamore Drive October’s events include a gift auction on the 24th, and the 27th the pumpkin patch.
