Holmdel, Bayshore Team Take Plunge For Special Olympics
Members of Holmdel PBA 239, part of a local Bayshore team, raised $83,000 for a good cause in the Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside Heights.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Members of the Holmdel PBA 239 were among those on a Bayshore team that braved the icy waters of Seaside Heights for the annual Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, the PBA said.
Each year, the Polar Bear Plunge is held to raise funds for Special Olympics New Jersey that provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Thousands of participants made the plunge.
Holmdel PBA 239 and the Bayshore team raised $83,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey, putting the event total at $2.4 million, according to the PBA.

The Polar Bear Plunge is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising campaign that Holmdel officers participate in each summer.
