Jeff Mann

Age: 50
Town of Residence: Holmdel
Education: Computer Science
Occupation: Self-Employed

What drove you to seek public office?
I am actually currently on the Board of Education at Holmdel. I’m running again to help our district continue on the strong path that we are on.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?
I am currently on the Board of Ed. That experience is valuable, and as a business owner with more than 60 employees, I bring real-world leadership and financial expertise to the board.

I currently operate three thriving businesses, where I am directly responsible for profit and loss (P&L) management, strategic planning, and team development. My hands-on experience balancing budgets, optimizing operations and making data-driven decisions translates into fiscally responsible stewardship for my Holmdel district

What are past accomplishments or experiences that make you qualified for this position?
When I initially ran and won my seat 3 years ago; our district was heading in the wrong direction. Since being on the Board of Ed, all that has changed, our rankings are up, AP scores are up, bullying is down and our own Indian Hill School won a Blue Ribbon Award.

I continue to run on a platform of educational excellence, parental rights, transparency, and budget prudence — I remain committed to those principles. I intend to protect and build upon the success of Holmdel’s schools, which now consistently rank among New Jersey’s top-performing districts

If elected, what will be your top priorities in your new role?
As I am currently on the board, the priorities are prudently negotiating our expired teachers' contract and managing our budget shortfall.

The budget shortfall and the contract somewhat go hand in hand. We have been performing feasibility studies as well as exploring all options as it pertains to the budget, so we can safely say we have “left no stone unturned” when it comes time to make a decision.

Name one thing about Holmdel that always makes you smile.
I can name about 3,000 of them, our amazing students!

Thank you, and please vote for Mann, Buckley and Schroeter!
