With 10 out of 10 districts reporting, Joanne Lam, Brittany Manning and Gregory Fernandez (who ran under the campaign "Education Not Politics" together) were leading challenger Kevin Schroeter and incumbents Jeff Mann and John Buckley (who ran under the campaign "Preserve Holmdel Schools" together) for three full-term seats on the board.

Throughout the race, finances have been a hot topic amongst candidates as the district faces a $2.4 million deficit going into the 2026-27 school year, and the board remains at an impasse in teacher contract negotiations.

In addition to budgeting, candidates have also discussed the reputation of Holmdel Schools and maintaining their rankings amongst the state. Recently, Holmdel’s Indian Hill School was even named a 2025 National Blue Ribbon School.
